Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you’ll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short city tour or simply relax at the lodge while preparing for the adventure ahead. Overnight in Arusha.
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its vast elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Game drives here provide opportunities to see giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, and over 400 bird species. The Tarangire River, which cuts through the park, attracts wildlife throughout the year, especially in the dry season. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge or camp inside or near the park.
After breakfast, continue your journey to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic reserve lying at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. On your game drive, look out for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, hippos, giraffes, and thousands of flamingos along the lake shores. This morning, set out for Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s flagship wildlife destination. En route, enjoy spectacular views as you drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional stops at Masai villages. Upon entering the Serengeti, embark on an afternoon game drive across the endless plains, home to cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, elephants, and the Great Migration depending on the season. Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti, taking both morning and afternoon game drives to maximize wildlife viewing. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the breathtaking spectacle of the wildebeest migration, with thousands of animals crossing rivers and plains. The Serengeti also offers superb predator sightings, including prides of lions and elusive leopards. Relax in the evening at your safari camp or lodge surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
After breakfast, enjoy one last game drive in the Serengeti before heading back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon, arrive at your lodge situated on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views into the caldera. The evening is free to relax as you prepare for the crater exploration the following day.
Early in the morning, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden,” the crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including lions, rhinos, elephants, zebras, and wildebeests. Its enclosed ecosystem makes for some of the most concentrated and diverse wildlife viewing in Africa.
