This 6-day safari takes you to Uganda’s largest and oldest protected area—Murchison Falls National Park. Famous for the world’s most powerful waterfall and its diverse wildlife, the park offers classic savanna game drives, a breathtaking boat cruise on the Nile, and scenic nature walks. Beyond the wildlife-rich plains, the safari also includes rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest, and cultural encounters, giving you a well-rounded experience of Uganda’s wilderness and heritage.
Your safari begins with a drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to Uganda’s only wild rhinos. Here, you will enjoy an on-foot guided trek to see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. Later, proceed towards Murchison Falls National Park, with a scenic stop along the way. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Rise early for your first game drive across the park’s northern sector, where lions, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, and buffaloes roam freely. After lunch, head to the top of Murchison Falls to witness the Nile River being forced through a narrow gorge before plunging into a thunderous cascade. The experience of standing above the world’s most powerful waterfall is unforgettable.
Start with a relaxed morning before heading out for a boat cruise on the Nile River, which brings you close to hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife along the shores. The cruise ends near the base of the falls, offering stunning views. In the evening, enjoy another game drive as predators begin their hunt, giving you a different wildlife perspective.
Travel to Budongo Forest for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. Guided by experts, you’ll track and observe these intelligent primates in their natural setting, while also spotting other forest wildlife and unique tree species. Return to your lodge for relaxation and a quiet evening in the wild.
Spend part of the day visiting a nearby community to learn about local traditions, dances, and crafts, giving you cultural insights into the people who live around the park. The afternoon can be spent at leisure—relaxing by the lodge, birdwatching, or enjoying short guided walks in the surrounding savanna.
On your final morning, enjoy a last game drive to capture any wildlife you may have missed earlier. After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the evening with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s largest national park.
